Two friends and a cinematographer visit Ojai, California, intent on making a fake documentary about the infamous Ojai Vampire. However, things take a bizarre and frightening turn when they learn about a different local legend: The Char Man. Inspired by the real life legend.
I took this movie to be more of a satire of the FF Genre than an actual serious movie. It had some humor (maybe international) and lots of FF stereotypes and cliches. The leads had pretty good chemistry, but overall the story was all over the place and honestly made no sense at times.
I rank it in the mid/lower tier of FF I’ve seen, it just wasn’t for me. The real legend of Char Man sounds far more interesting.
