Pilot Capless EF nib has been a challenge to write with in this past 1+ month, but no matter how well I got it to work, its always got that extra fine finicky tooth on it, where it can make Sailor's 14kEF feedback feels incredibly smooth in comparison
If anyone asks someone who enjoys soft-ish fine Japanese nib for writing Japanese, and see if some mileage with moderate non-flex pressure could eventually change it like my other nibs did. its a massive challenge to try like the Capless 18kEF nib, but there IS a unique nice feel to it nonetheless. I only reached its more consistenly nice writing feel after I tried to restore the very minorly sprung nib back to what I remember when it was new, 'tip closed', not perfect to that, which is a luck to have that that imperfect repair happened to create just the right inkflow for the drag and scratch to mostly subside and leave the feedback in without becoming a scratchy gusher.
'Delicate softness with a considerable amount of feedback' is what I'd call how it writes now. horizontal strokes feel far less toothy than before, but it will be dry or scratch if its writing too light or heavy, reminiscent of my 60s Platinum soft nib pens, though they're more polished than this 2018 Capless EF nib unit
Also, I learned to remove the tiny capless nib off from its feed. it grabs just like a Lamy nib. very easy to go misaligned or sprung.
