AFM / DFM: Does disabling or deleting actually reduce failure?
I have a 2024 Yukon 6.2 but nobody posts on the Yukon sub so I'm hoping you Sierra people can help me out!
I've been reading up on AFM / DFM (I have DFM). Disabling the tech seems simple enough, but I've also read that the parts can still fail and cause issues even if disabled.
So what gives? Info online is not conclusive. Some say disabling decreases failure but only if done before 50k miles. Some say it doesn't make a difference and the trick is in keeping your oil clean with frequent changes.
Any insight from this group? Are there any cons to just disabling and hoping for the best?
