Does someone have a source on player count?
T.L.D.R: Using numbers from old game articles, I estimated only 0.00638% of players from 2021 are still playing the games multiplayer. Can someone double-check this?
After seeing how small Halo Infinite's population is compared to 2021, I was going to joke about the population of the game, but I can't find a Single. Straight. Answer. Every Google search I find only tells the total amount of sales Halo in general has made. Wikipedia says Halo Infinite had 20 million players circa January 2022, which I call BS on.
If Halo Infinite had 20 million copies in 2022, and the multiplayer peak was only 256-something thousand people, that means only around 1.3 percent of people who bought the game played the multiplayer. If we compare that number to the average Steam charts player count, there are only around 1300 people still playing Infinite, at least on Steam. That means, out of the 1.3 percent of people who actually played Halo Infinite's multiplayer, only around 0.5 percent of those people are still playing from that time.
This means only 0.00638% of people who bought the game are still playing. This seems wrong, and saddening. Can someone please check if I'm wrong on this?
