Brent Johnson basically ended DiPietro’s career with this elbow. DiPietro’s past was already filled with injuries so this definitely didn’t help things. DiPietro suffered facial fractures and a concussion. Although he would play a few more times for the Islanders, he was never the same and eventually got demoted to the minors.
