The game is insane now

I need some advice, I have been trying to do an HRE run but I keep getting overrun by basic AI divisions its insane, I usually try to go with 12/4 with eng, arty, and AA as support companies but now that seems to be completely unviable. What do I do? (I have 2.5k hours in this game)
