Strategies to vote "Uncommitted" in Illinois?? Will these work?
Okay. Legitimate question. I'm surprisingly seeing NO coordinated effort for voting "Uncommitted" for the IL Primaries (March 19th). Certainly nothing similar to MN or MI. Super weird? I am, however, seeing two options being floated on social media as ways to protest vote:
OPTION #1= Write-In "Gaza" - The plan being, similar to MN and MI, to show the large potential of Dems to break with the party in Nov should Biden continue supporting Is.rael. (via @Stephanie_Skora / #GirlIGuess)
OPTION #2= Leave it Blank - Instructing people to leave the Presidential option blank which will show Biden /Dems a "drop off rate" of his voters and thus show the large potential of Dems to break with the party in Nov should Biden continue supporting Is.rael. (Via Coalition-Active.org)
Cool. Except I'm seeing local news outlets report that IL only counts write-ins that are pre-approved... and that ballots left blank aren't counted.???
So can any lawyers or election judges answer this for me? Will either option actually be counted? Can you actually track "drop off rates" on empty ballots as they're suggesting??
