Updated Kansas City Unemployment Figures | released November 02, 2022
Official unemployment figures for the Kansas City economy were updated today. Numbers for August have been finalized and preliminary figures for September have now been made available.
August
The unemployment rate fell to 3.1% in August. 13,800 positions were lost, but 16,300 workers exiting the labor force caused the unemployment rate to decrease. The overall Nonfarm Payrolls figure did not change significantly. No individual sector saw significant employment changes.
September (preliminary)
The unemployment rate fell to 2.2% in September. 6,500 positions were added, and 4,000 workers left the labor force causing the unemployment rate decrease. The overall Nonfarm Payrolls figure did not change significantly. No individual sector saw significant employment changes.
