Monte never believed in Fox

I don’t think Monte ever wanted to build around Fox. He’s drafted 3 players to try and replace him. I think he always wanted to get to this point of trading him for assets. Whether you love Fox’s game or hate it. Strictly speaking his on the court game. Off the court Fox is everything you want in franchise leader. I don’t think Monte thought he could be the best player on a winning team. I think Monte always wanted to build around somebody else. But he can’t say that because of how much Fox is loved and was leader off of the court.
