Follow-up to my "Ford's Garage: Overpriced?" post
About three weeks ago I mused whether the new Ford's Garage at Smith Haven Mall was overpriced. The relevant part read: We had two non-alcoholic "mocktails," a Diet Coke, a firecracker shrimp appetizer, and two burgers. It came to $85, and with tip a total of $100.
There's no longer any doubt. A few days ago we went to the Outback in Holbrook. We had a margarita flight, a 20-oz. Foster's beer, buffalo wings, a bone-in ribeye steak and a porterhouse steak. It came to $115 and change, $140 with tip. Considering that included alcohol and two steaks, which I'll point out are just about the most expensive steaks on the menu, I say Outback was a much better deal than Ford's Garage. For an extra $40 (~$30 before tip) we got way much more.
As for quality, the steaks at Outback were perfectly good, maybe not equal to a fancy pants steakhouse but far less expensive.
