Are *all* Intel Macs not worth considering?

I know Apple silicon is more efficient, and generally better in every way. That said, I’m looking to upgrade, and the prices of some Intel Macs are making me reconsider.

For example, I could get a 2019 16 inch MacBook Pro, with 32gb of ram, the i9, 1tb storage and the most powerful dedicated GPU for the same price as a base M2 air in serviceable condition.

Surely in this case the pro is the better buy? Especially considering the fact it doesn’t have the scissor switches, is still supported and is powerful enough to run the next few major updates even after it’s dropped through open core.

I’ve not yet bought an Apple Silicon MacBook, so would love to hear any input
