Im thinking Brass knuckles but someone told me possibly lever to an old shotgun.

I found this last year and have been wondering ever since. Found near a historic decommissioned railroad turned into a bike path in rural IL. Another source told me there used to be mob activity in the area long ago. I could specity location but not sure about the legality of the area this was dug from.
