Topamax: Wishful Thinking or Actually Working?

I feel really, really dumb even asking this, and I feel like it really might just be wishful thinking, because I know the odds of any medication kicking in to any helpful degree in a week are slim to none.

I started on 25mg on 1/2. Having read some info about it prior, took it before bed. Did notice a bit of tingling in my fingers/arms the first day. Started my period day 2, so I'm not sure if the massive anxiety spike I had days 2 and 3 were the Topamax or the hormones. I've got a little brain fog, which is certainly annoying, since I'm finally medicated for my ADHD again and my brain was working as intended for a few weeks.

The reason I'm wondering is I've had one migraine in the 8 days I've been on it. Started in my sleep, I woke up, took my Frova, took a nap, and it was gone when I woke up. Total time was around 5 hours. That's unheard of for me - they're usually 12-18 if the meds don't kick in as intended (usually if I don't take them soon enough). Other than that, the only headaches I've had have been mild and felt more like tension headaches, even though I live in Chicago and the weather has changed several times recently, which is usually a big trigger for me - even just "oh, its going to snow today" is grounds for me to expect something. It's snowing this morning, and driving home from work, I had a wonderful moment of "...It's snowing, and my head doesn't hurt. I'm driving in the snow, and my head doesn't hurt."

Again, I'm fully aware this is probably a coincidence, but is it even possible? Most of what I've found on here about Topamax hasn't been the most positive, so if anyone has some insight, it'd be much appreciated!
