What is Tails’ personality in the Sonic movies?

I mean I have my own interpretations of his personality but what do you guys think? Is he still shy and timid after Sonic 3? I mean obviously he was nervous when he was trying to talk down Sonic and Knuckles from fighting. (I feel like that was partly due to his young age.) And he’s definitely kind as usual. Can you guys give me your opinions on all of this?
