Civilian job search
Currently serving in the guard with a year left on my 3/5 as a 15U (Chinook mechanic). Also, currently in college for a bachelors in Computational Linguistics. That field is relatively niche, but I am essentially looking for jobs in the tech/CS field.
Anyhow, my (planned) civilian and military careers are quite different from one another. Of course there will inevitably be soft skills that might transfer over, but in terms of technical skills there isn't much overlap. My question is, for other people who are or were in my situation, how did you use your military career/experience in your civilian career?
The only thing I can think of right now is my clearance; for example, I applied to a job that requires applicants to eventually obtain a Secret clearance, which I already possess, with the hope that my application would be looked on favorably.
EDIT: I should mention, I don't have much interest in getting an A&P for civilian aircraft maintenance nor an interest in 25/17 series in the army
