the infantilization and normalization of trump and his supporters is what got us here

I follow this girl on tiktok that runs with random people, she ran with Tim Walz and a bit after the election ran with some loser Fox news host. Someone in the comments asked “why are you running with him right after you ran with Walz?” and the replies were the usual defensive republicans saying “oh go cry about it!” “oh you make politics ur entire identity” but the comment that SHE liked was “there are good people on both sides” and this sent me. This type of normalization of people who voted for a racist criminal is what has gotten us here. Fox news literally perpetrated the election fraud claims that Trump screamed about in 2020 (https://apnews.com/article/fox-news-dominion-lawsuit-trial-trump-2020-0ac71f75acfacc52ea80b3e747fb0afe) the same one that led to the violent insurrection and the rise of hate in this country, yet I am supposed to believe that there are good people on both sides? Someone voting for someone who spews hateful rhetoric and lies is not a good person to me sorry. The girl liking the comment really made me realize we have gone so far into this whole “every voice matters” and “we all need to get along” “both sides are valid” BS that everyone become numb to what is actually going on in this country all because of trump. we shouldn’t be friends or normalize or be cordial with racists, homophobes, misogynistic hateful people? and then the whole “they didn’t know he was going to do xyz!” I DONT CARE! Read about your own politician, do your own research?
