Sooo...anyone get ticketed in Quebec recently for expired plates?

Last night I got a ticket for expired plates while I was over in Gat, my sticker would have required renewing this month if we still did that, but my understanding is that as of March 13th, plate stickers are not a thing anymore. What do? I spoke to a super nice lady at the prosecutors office and she said I will have to go through the process of pleading not guilty etc. Seems like a hassle, shouldn't Quebec kinda be aware of this large change in how Ontario is going about things? Anyone expereince this situation yet?

ALSO y'all, there is now a permenant speed trap going onto Portage toward Ottawa, where you drive under the overpass for the government buildings there. Vitesse!
