Movement. My god…
Nothing too crazy just wanted to share. My wife is currently 26 weeks with our di/di boy girl twins. They will be our second and third.
Our first was a pretty normal pregnancy until the end (preeclampsia), and like a lot of first pregnancies it took a while to feel external movements. Even when he would get going, she had an anterior placenta so nothing ever got too crazy
But these twins. My god. Ladies I can’t imagine how you do it. Starting at 20 weeks on the dot you could feel robust movement, but lately it has gotten really intense. I love feeling my babies move, just like I did with my first. My honest to god favorite thing in the world is jumping into bed early with my wife after a good put down with my son and cuddling up spooning under the covers and rubbing her belly for about 5-10 minutes before she says “okay I’m too hot, roll over and put the pillow between us.”
Posterior for the girl and a lateral for the boy, I can tell instantly when baby girl is moving cause I’m pretty sure that’s what the chest buster scene from Alien comes from. The other day I could swear I saw the outline of a fist
Baby boy was going nuts during the anatomy scan and she said she couldn’t feel it much, but 2 weeks later I could feel them both moving distinctly at the same time. Just like the deep seated and rhythmic movements my son had. Since then she told me that her movements get into freaky territory when he gets going too, like he’s egging her on or something.
My wife is such a hardass trooper, she doesn’t ever complain unless they really start whaling on her vagina or bladder. Here lately she’ll go “babe” and I’ll look over and see her pointing to a spot and SEE FROM ACROSS THE ROOM her belly just jump outwards like one of them just tried to scissor kick down a barn door.
It crazy. And weird. And probably painful. Utterly fascinating yet equally disturbing. I love it. I kinda hate it cause I know it’s another on a laundry list of things making my wife feel like crap. But man is it really something. Shoutout to all the people that have to deal with the same amount of limbs as an octopus screwing with their insides.
