As of today /r/pcgaming has implemented a post limit

Hello /r/pcgaming in our ongoing effort to create a better subreddit we have decided to add a per user post quota limit to the subreddit.

We are hoping this leads to more variety in news sources, discussions and type of posts being submitted to the sub as well as allowing more users to contribute. This should also help prevent any sort of race to be the first to post any particular announcement.

This should also prevent the sub from being monopolized by a small subset of users especially on days with large amounts of news or announcements.

The individual quota will be 4 posts per user during a rolling 24 hours period, meaning it won't simply reset at midnight. Instead each post will carry a 24 hour timer and if 4 posts are made, the next will be available the following day at the time of the first post, then at the time of the second post etc.

This new limit is not set in stone, we will be monitoring the traffic in the subreddit and raise or lower the limit as needed to make sure we still have content being posted but are getting the desired variety.
