So the jar of dirt...
The jar of dirt Jack was given in "Dead Man's Chest" was obviously meant to be used against Davey Jones somehow because of his inability to set foot on land, but the writers just kind of forgot to use it that way, right? Like, that's obviously what happened with that plot device isn't it? When I first saw the movie and Jack was confused why he was being given a jar of dirt, I was immediately like "oh, it's because Davey Jones can't set foot on land, so later on Jack is gonna spread the dirt out across the deck of the ship or something to keep Jones at bay!" But of course nothing like that ended up happening at all. So what gives? Anyone else have the same thought when Jack was given the dirt? And then were you equally as confused when it was never used that way?
