What are some ways to get food?

Currently playing build 42, random location, 1 year later, winter, extremely rare loot, and very high zombies. I’ve only survived a handful days on my current run, but my player is constantly hungry. I’ve been hunting rats mostly and rummaging through trash bins, but with the amount of zombies, I can’t maneuver around a lot. I can make a fishing rod, but since it’s a random location, idk if there’s a body of water nearby. Is there any other methods of getting food?
