Does 0.001” make that much of a difference?

I recently bought a batch of mixed, once fired brass and have been sorting by length (1.135”-1.156”). I’d like to make a batch of low recoil wad cutters with a case length of 1.145” and a COAL of 1.160”. I’ve got a decent amount of brass measuring 1.144-1.146”. Other than maybe having to adjust my dues slightly, I wasn’t sure if 0.002” variance makes that much of a difference or would effect performance in a plinking round. Do I really need to be 100% on the mark for this load?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the caliber is 38spl.
