Basement setup decor?

I don’t really know how to make my setup look more lively.

I have the basement that used to be just a semi-finished room before i moved in with my dad some years ago. Not much light gets in except for select hours of the day through one window.

I also have 2 cats that i’m positive would love to eat some plants, but it might be worth a shot. Any suggestions?
