We need to get rid of CTG

I’m tired of having to explain to customers, COLOR TO GO IS NOT YOUR FINAL PAINT!!! I had a customer just come in and complain that I sold her the wrong paint for her wood table (Emerald Urethane). I had to tell her “I asked you if you wanted a sample color to go to just try the color out, or you know what color and you’re ready for your final product?” And she said “I just wanted a sample” and I replied “yes, I gave you a quart of the paint that is perfect for your project” and she was like “but it’s wrong, I just need a sample quart and I’ll just top coat it.” I explained to her that the Emerald Urethane is already a paint and “top coat” in one that you do not need to top coat so it saves you steps. Finally she walks out and goes on her day.

Why do customers say samples when they mean quart size, and what is so hard to understand that a sample quart is just to see the color it is not your final product??
