Some BIG Theories that Might be Right about Season 2
Just like most of you I've watched the season 2 special teaser a LOT now. I like doing this and analyzing things I see in them and I wanted to share a couple of things I noticed and theories about season 2, as well as hear your opinions.
1. At the beginning of the trailer at 0:07 when the camera pans around Gi-hun to reveal the front man, I noticed a door on the right that has the same shade of "Squid Game Red" that is used throughout the game with a 3-digit golden number on it. This is one of my many wild theories but I believe that instead of this being a fancy apartment or abandoned hotel, I think it is a place where past winners or VIPs stay.
I also heard another theory that Gi-hun could be experiencing a dream sequence at the beginning, and the dream was him meeting the Front Man. If this is true, that could explain why at the beginning of the trailer his eyes opened quickly and he gasped. The dream was so scary he woke himself up.
2. At 0:13-0:14 in the trailer we see a glimpse of the Triangle Soldiers quarters and one putting on a mask. Why did the trailer focus so heavily on Triangle Soldiers? We also saw them when they were getting ready to shoot back presumably at some rogue players that disarmed a group of soldiers and took their guns. I believe that the teaser focuses heavily on the Triangle Soldiers because Gi-hun is going to lead a group of people in Season 2 to fight back with him and get guns from a group of soldiers. The teaser mentions the Triangle Soldiers so much because taking their guns will be a major part of the story.
3. Who is that guy at 0:17 in the trailer wearing a black jumpsuit? Well, I came up with a theory for this the day the trailer came out. When BBC reports on a royal family member's death, they dress in all black before going live to report it. What if this is a similar case? I believe that the Front Man died or had to step away from the games temporarily and when that happens a Square Soldier has to step in place to keep the games running while he's gone. Since the Front Man holds a lot of power and the Square Soldier won't be in power permanently, they instead have to wear a black jumpsuit acting in place temporarily. The black showcases how he has the power of the Front Man, and the dark pink stripe shows that he is not in acting power forever. This is also why he doesn't wear the Front Man's mask.
4. What is Club HDH and why is the name of it in English? We know that the games are held worldwide but the show is based in the Korean games. So why is the club in an English spelling? Perhaps it has something do with the VIPs? And one more thing, that poster to the left of the guard in the image I provided says 'Space Party' on the bottom. What does that even mean??
5. Holy shit. While I was typing this I just noticed something huge. In the scene at 0:25 where the square soldier approaches Gi-Hun, we see a person to the left behind the guard. They have a dark, skull-shaped mask on. Well, ILikeApple3, couldn't those just be decorations? No! There's a hand underneath the mask. I feel like I'm onto something.
6. The Limo scene makes sense - they showed it to us in the trailer. Gi-hun is at the club, a Square Soldier approaches him, they go out the door that we see in the scene previous to the one where the guard approaches him, that hallway that we see after the door opens is a hallway out of the club to the back alley. They walk down that hallway, exit the club, and the Square Soldier makes Gi-hun get into a limo.
7. Red Light Green Light is ALWAYS the opening game to Squid Game.
Let me tell you why. Red Light Green Light is the only game that players can't tell they will die if they mess up. The doll isn't holding a gun and they didn't know it was motion tracking. The sniper boxes for the guns are covered before the game starts. That's why Red Light Green Light is presented with circular guards. They don't need to kill the players because the doll does it for them. They way they set up Red Light Green Light makes it appear as though there is nothing to worry about.
Another thing that backs my claim for Red Light Green Light being the first game that I want to go into depth more on is that it's the only game where you can't tell you're meant to die. With Tug of Rope, you fall to your death. With Dalgona, they need guards in there with guns. With Marbles, they need guards in there with guns. With Squid Game, you're meant to kill the other player.
Bringing me to my point, at 0:34 in the trailer we're not seeing the guards fighting back from the players. It's the snipers box from Red Light Green Light. Now we can pretty confidently say that it will be the first game that they play.
My next point, more people might survive red light green light if Gi-hun tells them that the doll kills them if they move. This could affect the story as that first game is meant and was built to eliminate at least half of the players.
If #7 didn't make sense to you, basically Red Light Green Light is played first because they don't want the players to know or see that they're going to die if they get out. If they know they're going to die, they're going to be stubborn and not play. Hope this one makes sense, I typed this while thinking about it at the same time.
8. No theory for this one, I'm out of ideas. Why would they leave the markings to stay or leave the game on the floor? I did hear someone say that they're always going to vote to leave after the first game and Gi-hun will be the tie-breaking vote in season 2, Which did fascinate me. Great theory whoever said that :)
9. Rope Swinging will be a game. This is marked on the walls at the very top of the white part. You can see it in the image above.
Idk, am I onto something? I like thinking, I have a lot of free time to do it. Lmk what you think.
