Need Advice: Swiss Student D Visa Delay – What Happens if I Start in February Instead of September?

Hi everyone,

I’m an Indian student who has applied for a Swiss Student D Visa to attend the University of Geneva. My classes are scheduled to start on September 16, 2024, but I’m concerned that my visa approval might not come through in time. If it’s delayed, I’m considering deferring my admission to the February 2025 intake.

I have a couple of questions:

1. If I decide to start in February instead of September, will I need to reapply for the student visa? In my visa application, I mentioned a study duration of 24 months.

2. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?
