Why is buying software so difficult
I've been a sysadmin for a small to medium company (~40 employers) for a few years and am constantly surprised how much work it takes just to get a price for and then purchase enterprise software.
There's the BDRs, Account Execs, Resellers, etc who always ask the same questions and then give the same pitch regardless of what you say.
Then there's the complicated rules like lockout periods where they say I can't purchase more because we're renewing too soon or just renewed too recently.
Sometimes it feels like I go crazy chasing this stuff down day after day when I could be doing actual work. Absolutely maddening.
