Now that the season is over, thoughts on Michael and Snoop as coaches?
What the title says. My own thoughts:
Michael: His humor is a bit strange at times and a lot of his song choices were just not good (that Toxic battle.........). At the same time, though, he objectively made the best strategic decisions out of everybody and was the only coach that didn't completely fumble picking his final 2 artists. I don't think anyone can deny that based on the finale results; I was initially skeptical about him picking Shye over Cameron but Shye proved me wrong. For a first time coach, he did very well. He could be a powerhouse if he keeps making smart choices.
Snoop: Might be the most genuine coach the show has ever had, he seemed so invested in everybody. He's a naturally funny guy but as the season went on he started to repeat the same jokes over and over and it got old pretty fast. I also felt that the show put a bit too much emphasis on him at times, with stuff like him having the only non-singing advisor and those random segments with Martha Stewart (?????). Coaching-wise, he had two fantastic steals with Aliyah and Austyns but then messed up quite badly by not bringing them to the lives (and Jeremy wound up underperforming a bit in the finale). He definitely showed a bit more "first coach syndrome" than Michael but he was still a great addition to the show. Would love to see him back.
