Admitting the Problem is Step 1

The day we all fretted about has come and went - Tirzageddon (not my original). We knew that it would eventually happen but yet we are clutching our pearls in shock and outrage. We are endlessly checking Reddit to see if someone else got their meds from a favored telehealth while we refresh the UPS My Choice page looking for a label that has been created.

Every major telehealth confidently proclaimed that they had a plan for tirzageddon but now post vague notices or in some cases just ghost their patients. This leads to even more Reddit comments for us to examine and speculate.

Some of us methodically ordered as much as we could afford, that was allowed, with BUD date we could live with. Others skipped through the field of monthly memberships toward the cliff - eyes closed. When tirzageddon happened, the least risk adverse of us dropped a chunk of change on the largest order we could afford (loosely speaking) and hoped for the best. This group nervously joined the Reddit stalkers wiping sweat from their brow waiting for that label to be created. Others just believe the statements or in the past experience with their provider and post reassurring defenses.

The fact of the matter is that it is the plan has always had to be to capitalize on tirzageddon just as much as the FDA shortage. There cannot be a legitimate plan to continue procuring medication illegally from a 503b - those pharmacies have multiple revenue streams that they won’t risk. Even a plan to continue doing so from smaller 503a pharmacies makes no business sense at all. The legal exposure outweighs the profits from tirzageddon. A business plan that relies on illegal activity doesn’t advertise on Reddit even if Reddit would allow it contrary to the ban on grey. Expect that soon.

The Reddit community will have to grieve and recover. Admitting the problem is step 1. Compounding as we know it is over. If you buy tirz anywhere other than you get your antibiotics you should save fees and just find a local drug dealer.

I hope my stockpile order comes. If not, I suspect my $2500 is gone but I understood the risk. If so, I will have a year of meds. In that amount of time I hope brand is approved for one of the conditions I have and my ACA plan will cover it. I might sprinkle a little of Valhalla Vitality’s “trutide” on any stalls or I might start accumulating some grey. I have 3 months on hand so I have time for everything except admitting the problem.

I accept compounding is over. (Repeats over and over).
