/r/Toronto Monthly Meetup: The Artful Dodger near Yonge and Bloor from 7 p.m., Saturday Jan. 21

Hi everyone! The /r/Toronto monthly meetup for January will be Saturday, January 21. Typically we do the second Saturday of the month, but due to a scheduling conflict, we will be doing the third Saturday this month.

Come drink, eat, and hang out with fellow Redditors on the second floor of The Artful Dodger at 7 p.m. The Artful Dodger is located a short walk from Bloor-Yonge station, at 10 Isabella St.

If you need any help making it out to the meetup, I will do my best to accommodate. Social anxiety is tough, I experience it myself, and I want to make you feel more comfortable. I keep a close eye on the post comments and my DMs/IMs leading up to and throughout the event, so please message me!

If you've never been to an /r/Toronto meetup, don't worry about not fitting in. There are a few people who come out regularly, but the majority are new every month. In December, we had over 20 people come through the monthly meetup and it was a great time. Everyone who attended looks like the type of people you'd see when walking around Toronto.

If meeting Redditors in person isn't your thing, you can just look the other way and pretend you didn't see this post. :)

Lastly, we received some feedback in December about accessibility. We recognize that the stairs at The Artful Dodger make this meeting place inaccessible to some Redditors, and we are trying our best to accommodate everyone. We are looking into other venues that are accessible and will allow a group with a fluctuating number of attendees that does not require a minimum spend, takes orders at the bar (to prevent people from skipping out on a tab), and will let us make a reservation for a Saturday night. I have also been thinking about offering a second meetup on weeknights at an accessible venue to better accommodate. Due to my current schedule, I have not been able to make this happen, but am open to suggestions, feedback, and assistance from other Redditors in making this happen.

EDIT: I am going to be late. /u/mortuusanima will be there to greet you at 7. Look for her on the second floor of the Dodger, sitting at the tables across from the bar on the second floor. She is wearing a yellow banana t-shirt and a raccoon beanie and is there to welcome you. I will be there around 8 - have been significantly delayed due to the broken water main.
