Hi from Roo and SOSA
Chiming into say hello. I hope everyone's doing well, and I really love that you're still watching and sharing Undercover Underage.
It's true that we didn't get renewed. Theories abound to why, but ultimately we didn't do well on cable, although our best guess is that we did great on streaming. Seasons 1 and 2 are still available on Max/Discovery+.
It didn't have anything to do with covers being blown, etc. The cases you saw in Seasons 1 and 2 were from 2022 and prior, and we have 2023/2024 cases as well. We share as we can on Instagram, but it's mostly one of us with shaky cell phone footage.
That said, we are thinking about creating a YouTube channel for what could be a Season 3. We wouldn't be able to call it Undercover Underage, and the episodes would be shorter (10 minutes long, like an episode of Bluey but with less charm and more trauma) and maybe feature on perpetrator per episode. But, the show was such a great way to raise awareness, and we'd love to continue to do that.
It, like most things, hinges on funding. (I know, I know, spend money to make money, but we're a nonprofit, not a venture-backed company, so it's a trickier beast.) In the meantime, we are sharing on Instagram — including updates on trials and sentences.
At this point we're at six full-time employees, and we're continuing to do undercover operations, train law enforcement, talk with students, do presentations with parents/caregivers/schools, testify in cases, talk with legislators, support survivors via our therapy program, etc. Thanks for continuing to support our work! I wish I had a fresh batch of episodes for you, but hopefully that's in our future!
I'll be around if you have any questions you'd like to ask.
