Games that have left a mark in your life

Please share what are the games that have left a permanent marks in your life? Games that you spent so much time with and had a lot of fun?

For me, they are the followings

  • Dark Castle 1987. I just had my new Macintosh Plus and eager to find a game. There was the Dark Castle. It is one of the very first game that you need to play with keyboard and mouse. The sound and high resolution graphics was so good and the game was really tough. But I had a good time.
  • Tetris, 1988. This game caused me the Tetris effect the night after I first played it. When I close my eyes, I can see falling blocks falling from the sky. It's amazing.
  • Shadow of the Beast: 1989. Well, this game open my eyes as what sound and graphics of gaming can be. The music, in particular, is still awesome to these days. The parallax scrolling was very memorable also. The game was just impossiblely hard
  • Moria, 1989. I spent a good chuck of my freshman in college playing this game on Terminals in school. The multi-player variants like Islandia was truely engaging.
  • Romance of the 3 kingdoms, 1990. I had an addiction to KOEI's strategic games at the time. And the 3 kingdom's was the pinnacles. So much hours spent on it.
  • Street Fighter 2, 1991. God, I had spent so many coins on this game at the arcade. It is just incredible how good the control and combo feels.
  • Castle Wolfenstein 3D, 1992. I was shocked when I first saw this game. It opens the future to 3D gaming. I got motion sickness though after playing for hours.
  • Super Mario 64, 1996. I have always been a big fan of Super Mario bro. But this game truely transform the genre to 3D well. It is ranked among my best game ever.
  • Call of Duty campaigns. 2007 to present. I play only campaigns of COD. Ever since the original Modern Warfare appear, I have played every campaigns since. There is just something about COD. It is gun control is so satisfying. I had a lot of fun.
  • Luigi's Mansion 2. 2013 on 3DS. I still believe the 3DS is the greatest handheld ever made. The Luigi's Mansion 2 really bring out the 3D graphics capability of 3DS. The puzzles were very fun too. Amazing game

That's the list for me. How about yours?
