Wedding Planner Issue :(

Advice needed 🥲

Hi everyone! I’m getting married on August 31, 2025, and I’m feeling a bit stuck with my floral situation. I’ve been quoted over $5K for minimal floral, which is way out of my budget. My planner has only suggested two florists so far—one is over $5K, and the other is nearly $7K—and she doesn’t seem very open to providing more options. I’d really like to explore other vendors or even DIY some floral arrangements with help from friends and family.

The issue is that my planner doesn’t seem very supportive of the DIY idea, and it’s making me feel uncomfortable. I completely understand and respect how much work florists put into their craft, but I’m really trying to stay within my budget. I don’t know how to bring this up with her without creating tension, especially since I’ve already paid for her services.

On top of that, I already feel so overwhelmed with this whole wedding planning process. Instead of helping to ease my stress, I feel even more pressured by my planner. I’ve been thinking about continuing the planning myself and just hiring a month-of coordinator—but I’d still need someone to handle the decorating on the wedding day.

Does anyone have advice on how to approach this with my planner? Or has anyone switched to a month-of coordinator and found it helpful? I just want to feel supported and have my ideas respected. Any tips or personal experiences would mean so much!
