Hey! I just wanted to say, I’m about to be in my 30s and my closest friend is my mom! Past friendships fell apart for a multitude of reasons, but mostly because I have a low tolerance for people’s b/s. I keep acquaintances because I struggle with boundaries, and I prefer to keep my peace.

yeah after high school I realized I put up with wayy too much and started setting boundaries. ive finally come to the conclusion that id rather be friendless then have friends who don't respect me.

Have you considered therapy or counselling? Im not saying youre a problem, but it would probably help to have a professional to confide in. Not to mention, self improvement is always good.

I did used to go to therapy and had a psychiatrist but my insurance changed and I couldn't afford it anymore. I am changing it again soon and I'm gonna start looking around for another therapist. I know I rely on my partner a lot mentally since he's the only one who knows me and is very understanding. but if we ever have a fight (which doesn't happen much) I have no one to talk to about it. it's caused a lot of feelings to build up within me which I know isn't healthy.
